This story begins with Jane Gragtmans, the founder and previous owner of Didi Bahini. Always looking for ways to build the businesses of her partners, Jane noticed that people were selling scarves made from used saris. As the new owner of Didi Bahini, I returned from Nepal excited to share about my trip. I wanted to tell you about the products and encourage sales so that I could support my partners in Nepal by selling more.

But telling you about Fair Trade and the difference it makes seems *very* right. This virus is showing us just how connected we are, and the concept of Fair Trade is based on that connection and the belief that we are all important parts of the whole.

Before I bought Didi Bahini last summer, I couldn’t have found Nepal on a map. I wanted to do good by supporting Fair Trade initiatives, and when I met Jane Gragtmans and heard about her company, I knew that buying Didi Bahini was right for me.

But to really *own* this business and the work it will do, I needed to travel to Nepal to see the country and meet the supplier-partners, artisans and my consultant.
